Los Angeles, California, November 19, 2020 - The Black Artists + Designers Guild (BADG), a global platform representing a curated collective of independent Black artists, makers, and designers across various art and design disciplines, has partnered with Embello to execute an influencer fundraising campaign.
Embello, an influencer and digital marketing agency dedicated to home, is leading the influencer programming with the objective of raising $50,000 for Obsidian, a visionary virtual concept house highlighting Black cultural processes, methodologies, and strategies through innovation, technology, sustainability, and futurism.
Malene Barnett, founder of the Black Artists + Designers Guild shares, "For the longest time our voices have been silenced at worst and overlooked at best. We are thrilled to partner with Embello's diverse roster of influencers to help BADG's mission in aiding our fundraiser campaign for Obsidian: our inaugural virtual concept house where we aim to educate and build our stories as Black families. By partnering with some of our industry's top influencers we will make a difference by coalescing our platforms to open doors that will lead to equity within the industry and create spaces that matter to the black community.
The influencer campaign, which features 22 notable designers and artists, will not only raise money for Obsidian, it will also educate and introduce the influencers’ loyal audience to the BADG, their talented membership, and the innovative Obsidian virtual concept house--which reimagines the future of home on our own terms, as a virtual experience for Black families
The impressive list of participating influencers, includes: Bobby Berk, Thom Felicia, Ashley Childers, Barbie Burch, Beth Dotolo, Breegan Jane, Claire Staszak, Haneen Matt, Jaime Derringer, Kara Cox, Kara Mann, Kelli Ellis, Kerrie Kelly, Laura Umansky, Libby Langdon, Lisa Mende, Lori Paranjape, Marie Flanigan, Sara Barney, Sean Leffers, Stacy Garcia, and Tasha Agruso.
“We’re so proud to bring together an incredibly talented group of designers who are each sharing their platforms and dedicating their time to this cause, continuing the conversation of driving change in diversity in our industry,” says Laiza Cors, founder of Embello. “It’s one thing to say you want to make a difference, and quite another to actually take the time to do so.”
